Favourite espresso drink: Doppio Macchiato, or on a hot day a camomile tea with honey and ice is
the most refreshing choice when you're working behind the machine.

Favourite cafe: Bean Drinking, of course! Otherwise Sappho's in Glebe

What advice would you give to people who wants to be a barista or get into the coffee industry?: I have been a barista for 3 years, and you need to be a perfectionist. If you like hard work, people and pressure then this is the industry for you. Otherwise, find an office job and just get your buzz from your nearest passionate barista.

Favourite pastimes: Seeing live bands, playing the cello, sampling the local
coffee, reading, writing.

Percs of the Job: Constant (unrelenting) exercise of mind and body. Cafes tend to be
very social environments, and its great to work with the team at Bean
Drinking as all of the staff there share a passion for coffee.

Strangest customers' request: Being 'spotted' by a talent agent on New Years Eve when I was trying
to pack up the cafe. He just kept insisting that he wanted to sign me
up! Is there a sketch show for baristas now? "Thank god you're here! I
need a weak, hot, soy, decaf, organic piccolo latte with two equals."
