Stovetop/perc - 2007/05/28 16:31 Always get freshly roasted coffee. Try to get something that tells you what the "roasted on" date is, so you know exactly how fresh your coffee is.
It is recommended that you use coffee 10 days/2 weeks after the roasted on date so it stabilise.

Always get a grinder, no matter what price range it's in. Coffee in beans form stay fresh longer than coffee that's been ground. Once coffee has been ground, all the tastiest bits evaporates within 5 minutes. So grind as you need.

Always put cold fresh water in the stovetop, never boiled water.

And watch your stovetop especially when coffee starts "percing" out up top. Turn off the heat/stove when the coffee is filled 2 thirds, residual heat is enough to finish the brewing process. This prevents your coffee from burning and developing bitter taste.

Go to "Coffee Info" for more information.

I hope this helps.
